As the founder of MovAttune, I built this practice on a commitment to clinical excellence and ongoing learning, curiosity, and genuine collaboration. I'm registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists and verified by Psychology Today. My approach integrates evidence-based modalities including ACT, CBT, CPT, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Positive Psychology, and more — always tailored to you.
Outside of the therapy room, you'll find me walking my dog, spending time with friends and family, being outdoors (when it's not too cold!), and watching movies. I'm a firm believer that the people who show up for others need to show up for themselves too.
I completed my Ph.D. in clinical psychology at the University of British Columbia (Okanagan) and a residency year at the Northern Ontario Psychology Internship Consortium in Thunder Bay. My training has taken me through hospitals (inpatient and outpatient), community clinics, post-secondary settings where I taught and provided mental health services, and private practice. My research background is in happiness and well-being — which shaped how I approach therapy today. It's not just about reducing what hurts; it's about building what matters, including life satisfaction, self-compassion, gratitude, and meaningful connection.
Hi, I'm Dr. Carmela! I work with adults navigating stress, anxiety, low mood, and life transitions — but I also love working with people who aren't necessarily in crisis. Maybe you're doing okay overall, but you want more: more intention, more alignment, more of a life that actually feels like yours. If you're someone who's curious, reflective, and ready to understand yourself on a deeper level, we'll probably get along well.
